Basketball Training: Zig Zag Dribbling

The Zig Zag Dribbling drill was adapted from a Trey Burke pre-draft workout. This drill combines conditioning, dribbling, shooting, and running the floor.


Players dribble to each cone, making 3 moves (crossover, between the legs, etc.) at each cone. After making 3 moves at the final cone, pass to the coach, then sprint to the corner. Finish with a shot.

Coaches can adapt the drill by having players finish with a layup, jumpshot, 3 point shot, etc. Get creative based on the player’s skill set.

As always, push your players to go “Faster, Faster, Faster!”
